Ultra Modern

You could not be more surprised by the couple who engaged us for this new build! An ultra-modern, brand new, sleek styled design was the dream home for a retired couple settling in Bartlesville. Our clients were an absolute riot always ready with a joke and smile - we had the best time designing their forever home with and for them!

My favorite photo of this house showcases the simple, but creative palette of texture and dimension that never fails to catch the endless natural light. Its calm depth invites the rest and relaxation necessary for the peaceful retirement our clients envisioned.

This custom hood is a favorite masterpiece. This was a unique opportunity to use panels - a detail that is usually redundant because of color or materials. Not here! It outlines the quiet contrast of synthetic grey and natural wood, a rare blend of casual colors for a refined finish.

This home is illuminated with an incredible amount of natural light and I wanted to preserve an open, airy, and edited look. Including warmer flooring allowed that natural light to work the palette into a perfect balance. Deciding against centering the doorways was another fun and unusual approach to layering the living room dimensions.

Yet another example of how fun our clients are - they insisted on including all things shiny that had interesting shapes. They were fully committed to their ultra modern vision.

The custom wood-planked ceiling was thoughtfully designed, borrowing a grey tone from the hardwood flooring and reflecting it from above. This elegant feature provides plenty of opportunity to use similar stains of wood for the furniture. Together with the dropped ceiling, another “all things shiny” fixture creates a complimentary focal point for the dining room.
